FAQ's

Is this program right for my baby?

Rowena's feeding practices promotes baby-led feeding practices. Baby-led feeding practices are suitable for all healthy babies who are achieving all milestones expected for their stage of development, and who have the physical ability to safely feed from a bottle, regardless of whether they are averse to feeding or not.

How long will it take for my baby to consistently take a bottle?

Our course provides a slow, gradual, baby-led approach, allowing you to move at your baby’s pace. The timeline for transitioning can vary, with some babies adapting in a weeks weeks, while others may take months. Factors such as your baby’s age, temperament, degree of breast preference, and any breastfeeding to sleep association can all impact the timeline, ensuring a gentle and stress-free transition.

Is it normal for my baby to prefer breastfeeding over the bottle?

Yes, it's completely normal for babies to initially prefer breastfeeding as they are accustomed to the comfort, closeness, and nourishment it provides. Our course provides a gentle, step-by-step approach that helps your baby shift their preference in a way that’s supportive and considerate of their individual needs, making the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Is there a chance my baby will prefer the bottle after transitioning?

Yes, it is possible for your baby’s preference to shift over time to bottles. As you introduce the bottle, some babies who initially prefer breastfeeding may gradually begin to show a preference for the bottle instead. This can happen as part of the natural transition process.

Can I do the program if I am returning to work soon?

If you're returning to work within the next two weeks, we recommend using our Bottle-Feeding Aversion program, which offers a faster approach to help address bottle refusal and ensure your baby is comfortable with the transition in a shorter timeframe.

What if my baby doesn’t take the bottle after following the steps in the course?

If you have been trying to transition for a couple of months and are not seeing results, we suggest scheduling a bottle-feeding consultation to assess any underlying issues. Each baby is unique, and some may need a more tailored approach to address their specific challenges. Our team will work with you to identify any factors that may be affecting the transition and provide personalized guidance and support.
